Turbine Noise Log February 24, 2012
6:45 AM. Wind N, 18.6 rpms. The noise outside is like a low flying jet going over. An actual jet sound would be gone in 10 to 20 seconds. The turbine jet noise goes on for hours and for as much as 4 days. I don’t want to limit the approximation to 4 days because it could be longer. I woke up with a headache. I was woke up 3 to 5 times last night.

6:30 AM. Turbines are not turning. It is a good start to the day.
9:50 PM. Turbines are not turning. All day the turbines were turning slow or at about 11.0 rpms.

4:45 AM. I thought I was woke up 3 times by the turbines overnight. In reality I was woke 6 times. I could have missed one or two times. I was woke at 12:33, 2:02, 3:44, 4:12, 4:31 and 4:41. How would you function the following day? I also have a headache.

8:55 PM. Wind SW, 14 MPH with gust to 22 MPH, 18.4 rpms. Turbine 4 is a loud jet flying over noise. Turbine 6 I hear with our large dairy barn between me and the turbine. Turbine 73 is thumping and pounding. In my wood shed the noise is loud and pounding.

5:10 AM. Sleep was better last night. 8:50 PM Wind SE, 15 MPH, 17.5 rpms. Turbine 4 noise is like a jet. Turbine 73 noise is thumping and pounding.
10:30 PM. I can hear thumpingnoise in our family room attempting to watch TV.

5:15 AM. Wind N, 11.8 rpms. The noise this morning is that of a heavy motor grinding(friction). Iwas woke up at 1:48, 4:17 and 4:37 There were other times I was woke up, but I did not look at the clock. After 4:37 I did not sleep any more

5:10 AM. I was woke by the turbines at 12;33, 1;42, 2:17 and 3:21. We had a houseguest last night. When he came downstairs for breakfast he commented, “I head a sound all night that sounded like an alarm in another room. I realized this morning that it was the wind mills.”
6:10 AM Wind SW. Loud motor hum noise.

5:10 AM. It was another night of sleep deprivation. I was woke by the turbines at 2:02, 3:27, 4:04 and 4:34. After 4:34 AM I no longer slept. I was woke before 2:02, but did not write it down. I also have a deep down inside type headache.

5:30 AM. I was woke by the turbines numerous times. last night. I did not attempt to write the times down and I do not remember them.
8:50 AM Wind S. There is close to a noise like that of a jet flying over. Most of the day the turbines were tuning slower or about 11 rpms and the noise was not as great as now.

5:00 AM I don’t feel it was a very good night of sleep. I was woke by the turbines at 12:11, 2:11, 3:15 and 3:27. I had restless sleep throughout the night.
6:45 AM Wind SW, 15.2 rpms. I want to say the noise is a loud whooshing sound. It really is not a whoosh. If one stands directly below a turbine on could call the noise a whooshing sound. What is heard 1560 feet away from the turbine...

6:30 AM. We were training in Beloit. Last night was like two weeks ago staying in an unfamiliar house in an unfamiliar bed and inconsistent wood heat. Would you have any trouble sleeping under these three conditions? I slept great. I woke up one time. I had incredible dreams. Some dreams had people in them from our home area. Some dreams had people in them involving the class that we are here for....

5:10 AM. I slept pretty good last night only being woke up several times by the turbines.
5:40 AM. Wind NW, 11 rpms. The turbines are turning slow and just a whooshing noise this morning.
